Double tap the jump key. Useful for when you need to gain a metre or two very quickly. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING+ Tap roll button 3 times in quick succession whilst running forward. Useful for gaining more than a metre or two fast. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING-CARTWHEEL+ Lara will perform a roll, then a handspring and finally a cartwheel to be facing the other direction. Whilst running, tap the roll key twice, then whilst in the handspring press backwards and roll. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING-CARTWHEEL-HANDSTAND SOMERSAULT X2-SPINNING SOMERSAULT+ Do the same as above but will perform 2 handstand somersaults and a spinning somersault to finish facing the other direction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING-SLOW SPINNING SOMERSUALT+ Tap roll whilst moving to start the roll, then roll again to do a handspring, then in the middle of the handspring press backwards and jump. Lara will do a roll, handspring then a spinning somersault similar to others but only spins once around so that she ends up facing the other direction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING-SLOW SPINNING SOMERSUALT-BACKWARDS SOMERSAULT X2-SPINNING SOMERSAULT+ Same as above but keep pressing jump after the last one. Lara will do two backwards somersaults then a full spinning somersault all backwards. NICE!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING-HANDSTAND SOMERSAULT+ Tap roll button 6 times in quick succession whilst running forward. Useful for gaining a fair few metres fast. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +ROLL-HANDSPRING-HANDSTAND SOMERSAULT X3-SPINNING SOMERSAULT+ Tap roll button 12 times in quick succession whilst running forward. No more moves can be added to this. Also note that because no moves can be added to the end of this, just tap the roll button quickly until she performs it. Useful or moving a great distance fast.... and for entertaining the folks back home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SWAN DIVE# Tap the jump key then the roll button in quick succession whilst running. Do this like a 1-2 punch in boxing. NOTE: Don’t attempt this outside of these two scenarios - diving into water or diving to a level the same height of TWO levels below. Doing so will kill poor Lara. Do this before the previous one for a wicked combo move! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COMBO +SWAN DIVE-ROLL-HANDSPRING-HANDSTAND SOMERSAULT X3-SPINNING SOMERSAULT+ Tap the roll key repeatedly. This is the best combo in the game. Do this, while running forward, press jump, then immediately roll, then whilst in the roll press roll again. Whilst in the handspring press roll again at the same time as you press backwards. Lara will be facing the other direction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #BACKFLIP# Whilst guns are out, hold the backwards key and hit the jump key. NOTE: Lara can only do this with guns out! Yes I know I hate that too. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SIDEFLIP# (Both directions) Whilst guns are out, hold down either side key and hit the jump key. NOTE: Lara can only do this with guns out! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #FORWARD FLIP# Whilst guns are out, hold down the forward key and hit the jump key. NOTE: Lara can only do this with guns out! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #FAST HAND OVER HAND SHIMMY# Whilst hanging from her fingertips and your looking at her back, hold down one of the side keys and press the interact or E key in time with Lara’s movements. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #BACKWARDS VAULT-HANDSPRING# Whilst guns are out, hit the back key and tap the roll button. NOTE: This can only be performed when guns are out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SIDEWAYS VAULT-ROLL# Whilst guns are out, hold one of the side keys, then tap the roll button. NOTE: This can only be performed when guns are out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SLOW MOTION POUNCE AND GUN# This one is hard to use but comes in handy. If you cant get it first go, give up! You expend too much health otherwise from weapon hits. When Lara is within jumping range of an enemy that is right in front of Lara, jump and as Lara is about to land on them, jump again and Lara will enter slow motion, tomb raider style. You will have locked Lara’s guns on them so just fire Lara’s guns to waste em. Lara will perform a roll when Lara hit the ground. Its pretty cool and very useful at times when you need to take them down fast. I do believe you are able to kill them faster and with less rounds than normal because of where Lara’s hitting them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SLOW MOTION DIVING POUNCE AND GUN# Just as above but instead of pressing jump, you press the crouch or roll key and Lara will dive through the air and give Lara a shot at their back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SLOW MOTION GROUND SLIDING TRIP AND GUN# This one is a little more useful. Whilst guns are out, run at Lara’s opponent and as you get within jumping range, press roll and Lara will slide underneath and trip the enemy soldier. Pretty impressive. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #SLOW MOTION ENEMY VAULT AND GUN# This move need to be performed right next to an enemy for it to work. First be right next to an enemy and face them. Have Lara’s guns out and then press jump key. Then whilst Lara is in the air, fire Lara’s weapon for an easy slow motion kill. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #TURN AROUND ON BAR# Whilst at the top of the swing on a bar, press and hold the other direction. Simple. When at the top of the swing on a bar, hold down the E key and press the opposite direction. This will cause Lara to turn mid flight, then do some weird looking maneuver where she disconnects, splits her legs then connects again, whilst swinging the other direction. Very weird. I guess the idea behind this is a speedy turn around maybe? After a short passage where she climbs, talks, climbs some more and finally jumps onto a ledge. We are standing in front of the ruins of some place. [LEVEL BEGINS] OK First up, go up the ramp right in front of Lara and jump to the other side. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just before you cross the broken bridge, go left of the pillar in front of Lara, and you will find the first bronze reward. NICE! \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 1/10}- /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Look to Lara’s right and you will notice in the cave there, is the second bronze reward. Grab it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 2/10}- Turn left and notice a pool with a waterfall. Do a perfect swan dive into the pool (well you don’t have to if you don’t want to!) and turn to Lara’s left. There should be a ledge, climb up onto it. "Ahh that was lovely!" she will say. A short cinematic where Lara looks at her PDA. [FIRST BOULDER] Immediately in front of Lara is another ledge. Climb it too. Notice that there is a big ass boulder in Lara’s way? Grab it and move it forward. Now back up and jump onto the outcropping. Turn right and you will see two vines, one right in front of Lara. Climb that one and get to the correct height and jump across to the other vine and finally onto the next outcropping. Now in front of Lara is a rope dangling from a tree. Perform a running jump and Lara will grab onto it. /#####################################################################\ When Lara are on the rope, turn to Lara’s left and notice another cave. Swing into it and continue down the cave which turns to Lara’s right. Soon enough, you will see the first silver reward, sitting just before a drop, which will place Lara on the path described below. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 1/5}- Swing from the rope a few times and jump through the waterfall. [BEHIND THE WATERFALL] Turn Lara’s light on so you can see and start walking into the cave. Go around the U bend and come to a small jump. Take a running jump and arrive at the ledge. Lara will now look at the small ledge that stretches out across the side of the mountain. Jump onto this and move along it until you get to a small gap where an outcropping awaits. Jump onto it and remember this spot. [STREAM] Now start up the stream and once you get close to the boulder in front of Lara, it will start to roll back with an intention of crushing Lara. Go back to the place you remembered and watch as the boulder flies off the ledge and into the pool below. Run up this stream again and you will notice a branch across the path. Just before the branch is a small ramp on the right. Go up the ramp and jump onto the branch. Swing and jump onto the next branch then onto the ledge, then move right and jump to the next ledge. [FIRST MERCENARY] A short cinematic will show where Lara is shocked to find someone is after her but cannot find her. He will wander off up the stream and Lara can then get up from the ledge. Get out Lara’s trusty guns and go waste some fool. Continue up the way and you will come to a fallen tree. Go back a bit and see a bright white ledge that you can grab onto. It is on two sides of a cliff. Jump on this and move around the side and then vault up onto the outcropping. Ahh another boulder to push you say! Yup! Push the boulder onto the fallen tree below and watch as a branch is brought into the air, perfect height for swinging! Jump down from the ledge. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just to Lara’s left is the third bronze reward. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 3/10}- Jump onto that branch you just propped up. Swing a bit and launch onto the rocks on top of the waterfall. [SECOND WATERFALL] You will see a shiny metal circular door. Grapple it and give it a yank. It will come down and shatter. Walk into the door and a cinematic will play showing two guys musing over a cigarette smoking monkey. Lara will sneak into the area and get prepared for an attack. Whip out Lara’s guns and blast em. If you don’t want to be hurt unnecessarily, jump and dodge and move about. Once they are sucking in water, heal Lara and grab the medic kits. [THIRD WATERFALL] OK now jump onto the rock just in front of the next waterfall, and grab the ledge there. Either race to the left of the ledge or simple let it crumble and cause Lara to fall, then get back on it. It don’t matter. Jump to the left hand side of the ledge and then backwards jump onto the horizontal pole. Swing and then launch onto the ledge. Climb around the side and then jump onto the next ledge and vault Lara up onto the platform. Turn left and go round the bend and notice the handy dandy rope ready for you to swing from. Use it to swing to the slight right of the waterfall and onto the ledge behind it. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just to the left, behind the waterfall, and slightly to the left is a small cave, with the fourth bronze reward in it. Nab it and then drop back down a level and move across and back to the right of the waterfall as you are looking at it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 4/10}- Turn around and see two horizontal poles sticking out from the wall. [HORIZONTAL POLES X2] Jump and swing onto those and onto the far ledge. Get Lara’s guns out and waste the guy around the corner. Now notice the silver shiny disc above the stream? To grapple that jump twice whilst moving toward it. Swing a bit and then jump onto the far ledge (well if you were moving fast enough then you don’t have to swing at all). Continue down the corridor and around the bend to the right, then left and find an open area. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just as you loose Lara from the grapple swing, you will turn right down the corridor. Just on the bend, if you look up you will see the fifth bronze reward, but no way to get it! Ahh that’s what the mighty grapple is for! Move back a little from it and chuck Lara’s grapple at it. Give it a yank and hey presto! \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 5/10}- Once you enter the vale, a cinematic will play with Lara being coy about the ruins. Then the "bloody tourists" arrive and spoil it. Ok time for some payback. [BLOODY TOURISTS] See the rocks immediately in front of Lara? Hit the E or interact key to bring out Lara’s guns and shoot at the rocks aka environmental hazards to cause them to roll down the hill and crush the two guys walking down below. Time it well and the rocks will kill both, time it poorly and you will have to waste the second or both of them with Lara’s guns when you get down there. Now, once they are taken care of, slide down the hill and grab the medic kits from the dead guys if you need em. You only need to walk over the top of them to pick them up. You wont pick up more than you can carry so if you walk over them and they still sit there, then you have the maximum. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just as you get down from the slide, if you look to Lara’s forward right, you will see a small alcove in the rock. Go in there and just behind a rock is the sixth bronze reward. Saweet! \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 6/10}- Ok now you have two choices - Go around to the right of the pillar on the left, waste a guy and jump up to the ledge on Lara’s left or you could go up the ramp to the left of the pillar and waste the guy standing there and then the guy down below. I find going up the ramp much easier and faster. You can pick up the submachine gun if you want - its not bad but horribly inaccurate. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just before you jump onto the rope, jump down and go to Lara’s right. You will see a small corridor with a bridge above. Continue down this little corridor and what do ya know? The seventh bronze reward!! OMFG! What a find! Once you are done, go back up to the ledge you were on. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 7/10}- Now looking over the edge of the ledge you see the obvious rope that will lead you to the obvious ledge you need to swing to. Do this now but climb up a bit to ensure you are high enough to land on the opposing ledge. Once onto the next platform you will confronted with another slide down to the lower level. Be ready to whip out Lara’s guns and dispose of a fair few baddies, so get out Lara’s newly acquired submachine gun. [THIRD MERCENARY GROUP] As soon as you are down, turn right and start wasting guys left and right with Lara’s submachine gun. A cool trick is the pillar on Lara’s right, as you are crossing the small bridge. Hit that with the E or interact key and bingo! A ton of rock lands on the mercenaries heads, killing one or two instantly. Whilst doing this, keep trying to make Lara as hard to hit as possible by doing jumps and such whilst shooting. When you run out of ammo, you will auto switch to Lara’s hand guns. Keep it up past the car until all are disposed of. Grab either the submachine gun ammo from the dropped guns or pick up the assault rifle. I like the power of the assault rifle. [STAIRS BESIDE CAR] Option 1: Go up the stairs and a short cinematic will play with two guys firing a round at you, barely missing you, Lara pulls her guns out to fire back but the two "amateurs" run off into the tunnel only to be sliced and diced "that sounded permanent". Ok, now note that slicing sound whilst you watch the cinematic. This gives a hint as to what lays ahead. Option 2: Instead of the stairs, look to the right for a small platform leading to a series of platforms that you can jump onto. Jump all the way up and then go into the corridor. This only bypasses the cinematic but hey it don’t matter in the end. /#####################################################################\ As you are looking at the stairs, take a look on the left side and you will just see a couple levels of big steps. Just up two steps and have a look at the brick wall to Lara’s left. Look beyond it and you will see a little speck of silver. Could it be? Yes it is! The second salver reward!! \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 2/5}- [SPINNING SPIKES PUZZLE] As you walk up the stairs and into the corridor, the floor will slide off the sides and the spinning spikes will reveal a gruesome death to all who would like to try them out. Now remember the double jump grapple that you performed earlier? Do this on the very edge and before you start swinging, hold down the E or interact key to gain some height if necessary. Make sure you give Lara the best possible swing before launching off and attempting to land onto the solid floor in the distance. I missed once and I don’t like hearing the horrible slicing when your character is the one being diced. Once you have made it past the death pit, continue onwards down the corridor and turn right. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just at the end of the corridor past the gruesome death pit, if you look to Lara’s left, you will notice a small hole in the wall. Go through this and yeehaw! The eighth bronze reward! \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 8/10}- [CHAINS] Anyway once you have entered into the room with the unusual things on chains you will get in information cinematic showing you where you need to go. Either walk to jump onto the bare chain and start climbing quickly. Look around whilst climbing for the closest available bare chain, and look at it. Then hit the jump key to jump to it and then continue climbing. Jump back to the original chain once it is free again, then onto the ledge that is now at the right height. Go down the small area and find a lower room with a single chain. To save health, jump onto it and simply slide all the way down. [SINGLE CHAIN ROOM] Turn right around and notice the opening in the side of the wall behind you. Go through this and turn right to find a nice little pool of water to do another perfect swan dive! Once in the water turn right and swim through to the opening in the surface and go up to catch a breath. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Get out of the water, and behind a small little wall will be the ninth bronze reward. Cool, brilliant, wonderful... \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 9/10}- Turn around in the water and notice the bright sand on the bottom right - we want to go that way. Duck under and swim down that underwater passage and turn right. Come up and out of the water onto the stone floor. Go down this passage, turn right. Stop before you get to the left turn. Whip out Lara’s guns and get ready to waste a leopard. NOTE: This animal is not in the demo. Once the animal is removed from the level, proceed left and slow down to see the two side walls coming together to smash against each other. [FIRST CLOSING WALLS] When they are together race up to them and when you come to a stop, stop! As soon as they open again race forward and roll when you are near the end so that you get out in time. Aha! You say! I see a cage! Haha! That is the key to the puzzle to Lara’s left! Grab it and move it to the crashing walls and when they open, push it into the gap and continue moving it into the gap until you get to the second set of crashing walls. [SECOND CLOSING WALLS] Now a trick - when the second one opens, only push the cage just far enough to stop both walls from crashing together. Once the first wall retracts, push the cage further into the second set of walls and continue on. When you get to the end of it, do the same with the second as you did the first. Wait till it closes and smashes onto the cage then push forward and out. Dump the cage and race up the stairs to the right (well you don’t have to race if you don’t want to...) and into the brand new room. Ahh the master puzzle of the demo level! [MASTER PUZZLE] /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just to Lara’s right and onto the level just to the right of the chain that you face, is the tenth and final bronze reward! WICKED! \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 10/10}- Oh dam the door just closed behind Lara and she is now locked in the tomb. A cinematic will play showing the door closing and Lara looking up at the contents of the new room. "patience and persistence" is required for this puzzle. Turn right and find the cage on the current deck level. Now grab out Lara’s handy dandy new binocs, turn on RAD, and have a look at the three square pads on the floor, the bright white door at the far end of the room and the three cages - one to Lara’s immediate right, one underneath what looks like a seesaw to Lara’s forward left and another to Lara’s far forward right. First off, grab the cage on Lara’s right, and move it onto any one of the three pads. If you step on a pad Lara will look at what happens to learn what each pad does. Once the first cage is on a pad, walk to the middle where the middle pad is and right on the end, on the lower level is a leopard! Waste it from where you are so that it cant harm you. Now jump down to the lower level and grab the cage from underneath the seesaw and then place it on top of it on the same end as it was. Jump up to the upper decking and then run to the ledge to the right of the seesaw. Now turn left and jump onto the end of the seesaw to launch the cage up and onto the decking. If you just ran onto the end of the seesaw the cage will simply roll off it. You need to jump onto it. Repeat the process with the other cage, until all three are on the top deck. Move each cage to an empty pad and watch as the door opens. Hoorah! Now you can do two of one solution, which really, is a simple mirror of the other. Either left side or right side. It don’t matter. Jump up onto the ledge on the wall next to the door you used to enter the room and next to the chain with the thingy on it. From there, jump onto the chain above the thingy and then onto the thin ledge and start moving hand over hand around the bend. Jump up a level and up onto the deck there. Above Lara’s head is a chain that you can use to climb across the small chasm. Once on the other side of the chain, you will see a horizontal pole sticking out from the wall. Funny how these things are obviously put so that you can get from point A to point B! Jump onto it and swing and launch Lara onto the platform where the door opened. /#####################################################################\ Well this isn’t hard but its time consuming. Once you are at the top, right in front of the door, look to the other side of the room if you took the left path on the left side of the room. From where you are at the door, jump onto the ledge and around the bend. Continue along and then vault up to the next ledge up, and then vault onto the ledge where the chain is. Cross the chain to the other side of it and let go. Whoopee! The third silver reward!! \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 3/5}- /$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$\ OK now this can be a bit tricky to accomplish. Once you have all three cages on the pads, go to the middle one and grab it. Push the cage towards the white door so as to get a good view of it. The door should shut. OK, now pull it back onto the pad. Now race back to the cage on Lara’s left and pull or push it off. If you timed it right, the door should be stuck half way. If it isn’t right, then you wont be able to grab the chain to get up. To fix this, step on the left pad for a second and watch the locking mechanism unlock, then the cog will turn. Once it is just enough for the cog to turn, jump off. To add that little bit of leeway, move the cage from the middle pad to stop the doors movement and bring the chain to the right position. Brilliant! Now make Lara’s way up to the door. Climb up the wall beside the door and then do a sideways jump ONTO the door itself. Vault up and onto the door to find the gold reward! Well done!!! \$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/ -{Gold 1/1}- [SLICY BLADES] OK, the first 'interactive movie' sequence. Its really easy once you know how these things work. First off, when you enter a interactive movie sequence, you partially control Lara. You will see Lara moving but only you control small portions of what she does. When you need to do something, the game will display a direction arrow. Make sure you press the direction arrow when it displays and make sure its the right one or else watch Lara die. It stays on screen for about a second. Up arrow is forward when looking Lara’s direction when you normally control Lara. And the other directions are the same. Just don’t press the buttons corresponding to Lara’s current direction. OK the keys, are back or down, then up or forward. NOTE: When she flips during the second button press moment, you will see the silver reward below you. You cannot access this yet so don’t worry. Turn immediately right, down a but then slow down and turn left. Be wary of the edge just in front of you. Walk right up to the edge and whip out Lara’s guns. As you look into the big room, you will see things that look like the old 'hills hoist' washing lines or coat hangers. They are really torture devices. Look to Lara’s right and you will see a leopard. Waste it before you continue. [TORTURE DEVICES] OK put Lara’s guns away and drop down to Lara’s fingertips on the edge. Move as far as you can to the right, then drop down two levels then let go. You will be pretty much on the lower level. Find the platform to Lara’s right looking back up at the way you came. Move over to this platform and jump up to it. /#####################################################################\ When you are on the lower level, look just left of the entrance that you just dropped down from. You will notice a section of wall that is a slightly different, lighter, colour than the rest of the wall. Move over this section, grab it and push it into the wall. Keep moving it until you cant push it any further. Let go and turn right. Go down the passageway and turn left. You will enter into a room that is below the slicy blades above you. Ahh you finally got that elusive one that you couldn’t get before! the fourth silver reward! \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 4/5}- Now look at the closest 'coat hangar'. Jump to the left side of it so that you swing on it and cause it to move around. Whilst still swinging forward, jump to the next one in line and cause that one to swing around. Jump onto the last one and as it turns around, jump onto the ledge on the wall. Move right by quickly shimmying until you get to the exit. You cant get out just yet. Jump across the bottom of the exit to the other ledge on the other side of the doorway. /#####################################################################\ Once you are on the other side of the doorway, look behind you, and you will notice a 'coat hangar' directly behind you. Jump backwards onto the left side of it and wait till it turns around. Now jump straight onto the ledge right in front of you. Vault up and collect the fifth and last silver reward of the level. Congrats! Once you have collected the loot, jump back to the same side of the 'coat hangar' and await it to turn back again. Then jump back to the wall, where you came from. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 5/5}- Now move to the right as far as you can go, and vault upwards to catch the wall ledge. Move right again, and then vault up to the small wall ledge there. Now move left and jump the gap to the wall ledge that will lead you to the exit. Turn the corner and let go. Bingo! We are past the 'coat hangars of death!'. [APACHE ATTACK] Jump up a level and immediately turn right. Proceed down this corridor and perform every running maneuver in the book until you feel happy enough to fight an AH-64 APACHE! Turn the corner to the left and you will be faced with a cinematic which shows Lara’s past in a flashback. Once the flashback is finished, you will be on a bridge with an apache about to rain fire down upon Lara’s humble bridge. Don’t shoot, just run and jump the gaps it creates and finally jump onto the edge of the rock platform. Vault up and start to waste all the mercenaries you see. Piece of p---. [LEVEL COMPLETE NOTES] Lara inspects the stone dais and talks to zip and co about the fact that the shows not over. The next scene takes place in the manor, back in London. The crew examine the stone dais and Lara barks out her new orders. Everyone scampers off screen and we are left to our own devices shortly after. [LEVEL BEGINS] Proceed forward and up to the dummy in front of you and turn left. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ As soon as you get to the dummy, turn right and go around to the back of the building on the right. Jump onto the smaller roof and onto the bigger roof. Proceed to the other side of the roof and jump and grapple the power pole on the other side of the street. Swing to the roof directly opposite. Jump down to the other side and notice the first bronze reward. Now move the box that is nearby to the fence and use it to jump over it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 1/8}- You will see Lara's friend sitting by a parked jeep. Go through the gateway and a cut scene will ensue. After a bit of chatting, a truck crashes through a side gate and just about rams the jeep. Whilst whats her name jumps into the jeep and heads off, Lara is left to waste the guys who arrived in the truck. Waste 2-3 guys on the right, then another 3 guys on the right side. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Once you have disposed of the bad guys, jump onto the little stall to the side of the stairs. Now jump onto the closest roof. You will notice two poles sticking out from the wall in front of you. Jump on each of these and onto the roof beyond. Once you have arrived there, grab the second bronze reward and grab onto the zip line and slide all the way down. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 2/8}- /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before you jump onto the flag pole, go down the alleyway nearby and round the corner to Lara’s left will be a bronze reward. This is the third of the level. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 3/8}- Soon after you waste all 6 or so of the enemy guys, a shot gun toting merc will bash through un upstairs door and try and find you. Either waste him from the ground, or immediately jump onto the flag pole and scale it. Once at the right height, jump onto the platform and turn right. /#####################################################################\ Just as you get off the flag pole, there is a door just ahead and to Lara’s left. Go through it and on the right hand side of the room is a silver reward. This is the first silver reward. Nab it and back through the door \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 1/2}- You will need to jump grapple to get across the gap here. On the other side, go through the nearest door and find another shotgun wielding dude. Paste him and grab the stuff on the table if you need it. Immediately to Lara’s left is a door that leads to a horde of bad guys. Be prepared to go out running and gunning. Open the door and start pummeling the mercs a new one. [MERCS] The following area contains a lot of mercs. Here is a list: -Right in front of you is a building with a terrace. A single merc is up there. -On Lara’s right as you exit the building, is a guy on the ground. Above him is a grapple-able light post. You can use this to swing across to the other buildings. -In the building tower diagonally to Lara’s right is 2 mercs inside and one on the roof of the building behind it. -Another merc is just around the corner on the ground below this tower like building. -Around the corner a bit more is 2 more mercs on the ground. -As you come around the corner a jeep will rush in from the right with a guy on the back wielding a heavy machine cannon. To easily past this guy, hit the interact key on the electricity pole above his head. This will knock it off its support and electrocute him. -Around the corner and a bit further on is 3 more guys intent on throwing grenades at you. Rush in past the grenades and pummel them. -Finally a guy should appear back behind the jeep and a little back down the way you came. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before going near the bike, return back to the small little stall just around the corner from the buke and up from the truck. When you reach the stall turn right and go down the small passage way. At the end, turn right and you will see the fourth bronze reward. Grab it and return to the bike. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 4/8)- Once all mercs are accounted for, proceed to the bike at the end of the path. When Lara is close enough a cinematic will play with Lara being told mercs are after Anaya. [BIKE] This sequence is rather simple. To survive, you need to fire Lara’s weapons at the mercs that come in range of Lara’s pistol, all the while avoiding their fire. You will see many health packs on the road. Try to run over them to pick them up. If you have 95% health and you see a health pack ahead, use a health pack if you have maximum already as you cannot go back for it. Remember - you want to have the most health packs and at the same time, be the most health as possible. Only use health packs to either pick up more health packs or if you dip below half health. Don’t be afraid to use them if you get below half. You want to survive - not be silly. There isn’t anything special that happens on this section. Just drive and gun. Try not to hit the sides or the objects in the road, including dead guys bikes. Soon after you start, you will face a few jumps and a wall with a propane tank in front of it, hit the interact key to shoot it and waste the wall. Note this idea for later. When the bad guys are near a propane tank, shoot the tank to take em out with one shot. Keep this up for a while until the road thins and you see fire in the distance. This is a bridge that is on fire. Direct her bike to the non fire parts of the bridge and you will notice a jump. Its a jump over a wide chasm! On the other side of the bridge, a few trucks will come into view in the distance. Move to the left of the road as the right hand truck will loose it tailgate and start hurling boxes at you. Drive up the left side of the first truck and in between the 2 right side trucks. The left front truck will drop its tailgate too and loose some boxes. Then 2 mercs will get ready to start pummeling Lara. Don’t let em. Move left and waste em with Lara's trusty pistol. Once they are down, the tailgate will lower completely, allowing Lara to ride onto the back of the truck. Drive up the ramp and a cinematic will play. Lara jumps onto the cabin roof and do a cool matrix revolutions askew move where she shoots her pistols into the driver of the truck whilst doing a somersault into Anaya's jeep. Morpheus: "NICE!" Love those slow motion moves! [DIG SITE-PAST] NOTE: For this level only, you don’t have Lara’s Personal Light Source, instead you have Lara’s trusty old flares from previous games. To use them, use the K key on your keyboard. And don’t worry, they are infinite. Although you can only have two out at a time but. Also, you don’t have any weapons or grenades. Don’t worry you don’t have to shoot anything. OK, Lara’s in the past, reliving the experience you had a few years back. First off proceed down the ramp and roll under low ceiling tunnel and down the slope. Go around the corner to the left and when you get to what seems like a bottomless pit, run up to it and jump. You will grab hold of a pole above Lara’s head and be ready to climb across the gap on it. "Your lagging behind!" "Your such a tourist!" Once on the other side of the gap go around the corner in the tunnel and face a T intersection of sorts. To the left is a lighter tunnel and to the right is a darker tunnel. Go left first as you cant go right for very far. Amanda will scream and run from left to right and huge rocks will fall from the roof of the tunnel caving it in partially. This will block Lara’s access and give you but one option. The darker tunnel. Turn back and go through the darker tunnel until you get to the portcullis. Roll under it and see Sarah laying there unconscious it seems. [SARAH] To her left is a square block just dying to be moved. Grab it and look to Lara’s right. There is a pad in between what looks like spikes. Move the block to the right side of the small pit with spikes on either side so that the block is beneath the unbroken and unbent one. Jump up onto the block and jump again onto the straight spear and swing up onto the ledge in front of Lara. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ As soon as Lara gets onto the ledge, look to the right and at Lara's feet to see a nice easy bronze reward. Nice and easy eh? \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 5/8}- Now to the left is some kind of artwork on the wall with a small ledge that Lara can grip onto. Jump onto that and then onto the ledge on the other side of the room. Proceed down here and you will come to a large put with a rope dangling from the roof. Take note of this rope. Jump down and "My god!" there is a dead body on the ground! And a character named Kent is calling to Lara from the right, behind bars. Go to him and have a nice old chat. Now for a bit of fun! Grab the big huge ball behind you, next to the spears and push it and off the pad where the spikes are. This will release the trap and the spikes will retract. Be careful not to step on the spikes or else Lara will be skewered. Jump up onto the ledge behind the crane with the rope and align her with the edge closest to the crane. Now face the rope and jump onto it. Turn around to face Kent and start swinging. You will note a ledge higher than Kent - jump onto this and through the open door. Drop down and a cinematic will ensue with Kent hearing Amanda scream and chase after her. Only thing is, the beast that appears will be chasing him and have him for lunch. [THE BEAST] Now a frightened Lara will back away from it and run off down the tunnel. Now this is the next Interactive Movie event. This time a little different. You are looking through the eyes of the beast but you control Lara. Nice eh? Believe me I died many times because I didn’t realise I was in control of Lara. Guide here through the tunnel and over the obstacles until you get to a pit and a rope. Jump into the pit and the Interactive Movie will end with the beast going over the top and missing you. [SECOND BALL] OK, fun over, look to the left and see a high ledge with a smaller, knee high ledge below it. Jump onto the and see a big huge ball again. Grab the ball and push it off the ledge and onto the floor. Drop down and push it further onto the trap pad, activating it. But this one isn’t dangerous as it only has 2.5 spikes left. When you activate the trap the cameral will reveal that one spike is straight and unbroken. Get back onto the ledge and onto the next higher ledge in the middle of the room. If you got the ball in the right position, Amanda should appear to the left behind the bars. She will sob about everyone being dead. Soon after another guy races up to Amanda scream and she follows suit. The beast follows them. Enough chatter! Turn right and notice the spear the camera showed us. Jump onto it and vault onto the rope beyond it. Then vault onto the ledge at the far end of the room. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ When Lara is on the ledge, turn right and go around the bend. Right at Lara's feet is the sixth bronze reward. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 6/8}- Proceed down the tunnel, over the obstacle and enter the next room. Amanda is there and she has found a door. Or a key to opening it. [FLOODING ROOM] What follows is another cinematic where Lara argues with Amanda and Amanda attempting to pull the purple stone from the wall/door. The beast arrives and is about to consume Lara when Amanda pulls to stone free. The beast dissipates and vanishes. But all is not over. The room starts to cave in and water gushes in. Lara escapes but a portcullis closes behind her. Amanda is trapped behind the door and with her foot stuck beneath a rock. Lara attempts to hold the portcullis up but the rising water causes her to need air and she escapes. Amanda is last seen at the point where boulders fall on top of her. [PRESENT DAY DIG SITE] Lara is at the surface of the dig site remembering what happened oh so long ago. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before you go too far, have a look behind the three boxes to Lara's right. There is the seventh bronze reward sitting on the ground there behind them. Grab it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 7/8}- OK, time to finish day dreaming! Head past the old dig site and onto the landing by the old junk. Keep going until you find water. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just before you get to the pool, inside a big broken box should be the last bronze reward of the level. Nab it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 8/8}- Jump in and go straight down. You will find a passage under the water which you can go through. As you are swimming, you will see in front of Lara, some light coming from the ceiling - that is air. Go up where the light is and grab some air. Go back down once you are full again and proceed even further down the tunnel. Finally you will come to a massive room half filled with water. Below the surface are blue light sources. These are buttons that must be pressed one straight after another to complete the chain reaction. Duck down and press each one all in one breath. Make sure you start this from right above the first one to get the best possible chance of doing it in one shot. To get a little bit of speed underwater, hold down or continuously tap the E key. [SLOPING TUNNEL] /#####################################################################\ In one of the dead end tunnels of the massive room, is a nice silver reward, nab it to finish off the silver rewards for this level. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 2/2}- Have a look at the door where Amanda pulled off her little purple thingy and you will notice there is a gaping hole in it. Go through it and Lara and crew will spin off some tale about Tiwanaku and the legend of King Arthur. Go around this big block in front of Lara and go through the door. Ahead of Lara is a big ass slope. Don’t bother, you cant climb up the slope. Instead look to the left wall and see the two small white ledges that Lara can grip onto. Jump onto the bottom one, vault onto the next one up and jump backwards onto the platform behind Lara. Now Turn towards the slope and Lara’s grapple indicator will light up telling you that there is something to grapple onto. Jump and grapple so that you swing up the slope and leap onto the landing above the slope. Notice the small waterfall on Lara's right side. This has two small ledges rather like the two ledges Lara just passed. Jump up and onto the ledge. Find the next grapple point and jump, grapple and swing up onto the next landing. Go through a small corridor and enter a massive room. [MASSIVE ROOM] Walk up to the pit in front of Lara and await the Interactive Movie sequence. Lara will start walking onto the square blocks but the blocks buckle and brake off. Lara needs to get off the squares quickly. Wait for the arrows and hit the corresponding keys. The keys are up, up and right. On the keyboard in its default state, its W, W and D. Lara will grab onto and launch herself onto one of the statues to the left, and dive for the last square before the landing on the other side, but it falls away too, but she manages to grab one hand and then two onto the secure ledge. [MASTER PUZZLE] Welcome to the master puzzle of the level. Before you go too far, look left and right. Immediately to Lara's left and right are statues. One is broke, the other is not. That one has a big huge ball on top of it. Below that ball is a grapple point. Grab it with Lara’s grapple and give it a good yank to send the ball, and statue tumbling. Now grab that ball and move it down the room towards the other end. Notice three pads on the ground. These are where three balls go. You have one ball, one is sitting in an indentation and one is missing somewhere. For now, place the ball in any one of the three pads and watch the outcome. The two side ones split apart the huge statues to the sides and light beams come out of the statues eyes and pass above the animal statue and hit the ground beyond it. The middle pad rises the animal statue up a bit, you will see what this does later. Just make sure you place at least one ball on the right pad as this allows you to get the third and final ball. Place the other ball onto one of the pads and then proceed to climb the ladder on the right statue. It don’t matter which pad the first or second ball is on as long as one is on the right side pad as the left statue's ladder is broke and cannot be climbed. Which is good since you cant get atop it anyway. At the top of the right statue is the final ball. Once you have climbed the ladder, you have to jump right and onto the face of the statue, then jump up onto the top of the face. Now jump back onto the second half of the ladder and continue climbing. At the top, grab the ball and give it a push to get it to the floor. BOOM! Now go back down to the floor and push the last ball onto the remaining pad to activate the puzzle. Once activated, the middle statue opens up at the top, above the ladder to reveal the guardian 'egg' with the ceremonial blade. Lara examines the two pieces and notes it significance. Lara will pocked the fragment and leave the small tunnel. She will then be notified that the visitors have arrived and that she is eagerly awaiting to make them at home. [ESCAPE] At the end of the little platform and to the right, looking out into the room, are a set of two small ledges to grab onto. Jump and grab them and vault onto the platform. Now perform a running jump onto the stairs that are broken at the lower half. Climb up and onto the top of the statue. Go over to the other side and jump onto the small platform beside the statue and up onto the ledge that goes around the bend. Continue around and along the wall, jumping across gaps until you reach ledges below Lara. Drop down all the way until Lara is on a platform like what she was on just before. Turn around and you will see a rope. Don’t try this at home... jump out into thin air and grab the rope. /$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$\ When Lara is on the rope, turn to the left and look at the opposite side wall. You will notice a half broken platform with 2/3 ledges broken off. Climb the rope up until Lara is level with the topmost ledge. Turn until Lara is facing that ledge and start swinging. Make sure you get a good enough swing before launching off the rope. If dont correctly Lara will grab hold of the ledge. If dont incorrectly, you will be one ledge below the top one. If dont horribly wrong... well that sucks. From the top most level, shimmy left and jump over the broken parts of the ledge until you get to an opening above the ledge. Jump up and onto the ledge and proceed into the tunnel. Make a right turn and head up the slope until you reach another movable ball. Grab the ball and push it onto the slope so it rolls down it. The ball will smash through the wall, land on the platform below it, and then roll off and fall to the ground below. Carefully jump down onto the platform where the ball fell from, jump across to the right side statue and use the ladder to climb down to the floor. Now at the bottom, grab the ball and place it next to the ball on the middle pad. This will rise the animal in the centre even higher and reveal beneath it, the gold reward. Grab it and then make your way all the way back to the rope. Sigh... \$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/ -{Gold 1/1}- Halt Lara’s swinging and turn to face the platform to the right. Swing and jump onto it and be prepared to start shooting the mercs on the ground below Lara’s platform. [NON-FLOODED ROOM] Jump onto the slide and waste the two mercs there. Now go back down where you came from before and waste another merc. Once you get back to the room which was full of water, get ready to go in guns blazing. After wasting all three of the mercs, rearm and heal and find the rope at the little waterfall. Climb up it until you at the right height to swing onto the ledge. On the ledge go down the passage and waste one more merc. Climb a ladder and keep climbing up until you get to another merc. Waste him and beyond him lies the last rope. Its a long rope but. After the long climb, there are a LOT of mercs at the old dig site so be prepared to do a lot of gunning diving healing blah blah blah. Use grenades if you must but waste em all. I believe there are about 12 or so of them and a couple more on the level where the jeep is parked. [LEVEL COMPLETE NOTES] After they are all wasted you get a sob from Anya and some info about Lara’s next port of call. And its a cocktail party where Lara makes her biggest decision of the day. (certainly shows off her digital assets :]) She starts chatting away and eventually you are given control. NOTE: You cannot do much, other than walk around. All her moves will not be performed whilst in her evening dress. [LEVEL BEGINS] Proceed to mingle into the crowd and make your way across the dance floor to the bartender. Interact with him and he will tell Lara where to find Nishimura. Nishimura is in his office on the right side of the room next to the stairs. Go through the passage way and Lara will come to a door. Interact with the door and Nishimura will greet you. After a brief conversation Lara will leave the room. Upon re-entering the dance floor area, Lara is greeted by a hoard of Takamoto's thugs. A short conversation will ensue where Lara offers to obtain the missing peice of the 'sword' from Takamoto. Takamoto refuses and Lara is shot at. Lara ducks beneath the bar and proceeds to do surgury on her sexy dress to make it practical and to allow easy access to her hidden weapons. How she hid them in that barely there dress is beyond me. She kills one of the thugs who comes to investigate where she has gone in one shot and jumps up and prepares to waste the other thugs. [DANCEFLOOR] There are about 5-6 thugs in the dance area to waste so waste away until there are none left. To ensure you survive with the most health, do all your tricks that you can acheive to make sure you as hard to hit or target as possible. Even if you stuff a move up, your still moving and therefore hard to hit. After the dust clears and they are all dead, Nishimura will look around the corner from the passage way where his office is to check what has happened. A brief conversation will happen and Lara decides to attack Takamoto's sky scraper from the top. After Lara has finished talking, grab and health kits or weapons you spot on the ground and proceed to the elevator which is on the opposite side of the dance floor to Nishimura's office. After she awaits the elevator to reach the top floor she will exit and stand in front of a glass enclosed room. Walk up to the room to find a nice looking bike. Ducati of course. That is Lara's ride to be. To get to it we have to exit the room and go outside. To the left is the exit, so head through it and immediately after exiting, turn right and you will notice that a small gas bottle with the old exclamation mark which represents 'destroyable object' which means blow it up from a safe distance! When it blows up it will take with it the enclosure that a drain pipe was covered in. Now climb that drain pipe, jump to the platform to the right of Lara at the top and jump up onto the roof. [ROOF] Once on the very roof you can use the RAD mode of the binocs to see that a movable section of the glass roof exists right in the middle. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before hopping down into the room with the bike, go up to the top most part of the glass roof and jump up on the higher section of the roof. On it you will find a wooden box, shoot it with Lara's guns and grab the first bronze reward. Head back down to the glass roof. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 1/6}- Go to the left of this peice and grapple and yank it. It will slide across giving Lara access to the room with the bike. Jump down into the room, go down the flight of stairs and mount the bike. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just before you mount the bike, check behind the box with two chairs sitting beside it. There is a bronze reward sitting just behind them. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 2/6}- /#####################################################################\ On the opposite wall are 5 boxes tightly packed on the floor. Right in the middle of them lies the first silver reward of the level. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 1/4}- Now for some fun! Slowly take the bike out of the room via the glass door that Lara could not pass through from the other side, turn right and exit the room and out into the cold air of the night. I say slowly, as hitting something at anything faster than a crawl causes Lara damange or at high speeds, kills her. Take the bike out and around the top of the building and you will notice a ramp that ends abruptly. Now for some crazy shit! Take a small run up (this thing does 0-60 in like jack-shit time!) and run up and onto the ramp. [SKY SCRAPER HOP] OK another interactive movie sequence. Whilst in the air, Lara will see a horizontal pipe, and grapples onto it. Next she will release her grapple after the bike crashes into the wall and will land just before the wall. Finally she will notice the gas bottles start to fizzle and burn and jump off the platform and onto a side platform to the left. Now to accomplish this, at the prompts, press up or W, to grapple the horizontal pole, down or S, to release the grapple and finally, left or A to jump off the platform and onto a smaller platform. Phew! That was close! Right, now face the planks of wood and horizontal pole along the side of the building and jump onto the pole and swing up and onto the platform at the same hieght as the pole. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ On the lower level planks of wood, at the very end is a small wooden crate which holds a bronze reward. Grab it and go back and up a level to continue. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 3/6}- From there, continue on the wooden planks and jump across the gap. Whip out Lara's guns and fire at the sparkling circle ring that holds the glass window in place, sending it falling all the way down the the ground below. Now jump onto the next wooden plank and keep going until you reach the end. If you look up, you will see a black line running across the huge gap to the opposite building. Jump straight up and Lara will grab onto the line and flying fox style zoom across the expanse and land on the platform right beside the next building. (Dont try that at home boys and girls!) On the next platform you will see a small platform which is a little too far to jump to. Never fear! Grapple hook is here! Grapple the platform and give it a yank to send it swinging toward you in a back and forth motion. Time it right and jump onto the platform. Its not hard, trust me. Do the same with the next platform and you will come to the corner of the building. Take a running jump out into thin air and press the grapple key when it lights up with the prompt. Once grappled to the overhanging metal thingy, stop your swinging. Turn around to the right and a platform (which is solid) will be waiting for Lara. Swing up and onto that and grab the next two platforms with the grapple the same way you just did the previous two. At the final movie platform take arunning jump into thin air and press the grapple key to start swinging from some metallic object above Lara. Stop your swing and turn right to notice a broken section of fencing where Lara can swing up and onto the landing there. Once onto the landing get Lara's guns ready. [TAKAMOTO'S BUILDING] After walking forward a couple steps, Lara is greeted by a sight of 3 or more of Takamoto's thugs casually walking out into the terrace. Get out Lara's guns or assault rifle and prepare to do some serious brawling. Be warned about the two dogs that come after Lara, they are pretty pathetic as an enemy but can really chew you up if you only concentrate on the thugs. Waste the dogs first (poor dogs) and then the thugs. Use the destroyable objects that surround the garden in the centre of the courtyard to either hurt or kill the thugs whilst jumping and rolling about. Another good idea would be to initiate the fight with a nice grenade to soften them up. Once they have been dealt with go down to the other end of the courtyard and there should be a door to the right. Go through here and immediately in front of Lara is a set of stairs. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Go down the stairs and look on the ground. There will be a wooden crate which can be destroyed to reveal a bronze reward. Go back up the stairs after you grab it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 4/6}- /#####################################################################\ Climb three flights of stairs until you come to a dead end. On the right side is a part of the side fencing which is broken, allowing access to the piping beyond. Jump down onto the piping, follow it around until it comes to a wall. At the wall, further along it, is a ledge that Lara needs to jump to. On the ledge shimmy along until you reach its end, then jump backwards and from this set of piping, follow it until you see a wooden box, shoot it and reveal a silver reward. Jump back onto the ledge and drop down to a ledge below that one. Release the grip and then turn right and proceed through the doors. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 2/4}- Climb the stairs and turn right and through the doors and into the next room. There are a few of Takamoto's thugs in here waiting for some target practice. Throw a grenade or two to soften them up before bringing out Lara's trusty duel pistols or assault rifle to bear. After wasting all of the thugs - i believe there are about 6 or so - go and inspect the large wall tv that takes up most of the opposite wall. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before you tangle with the tv, go to the far left corner. There is a wooden box that can be destroyed. Shoot it to reveal a bronze reward. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 5/6}- /#####################################################################\ After you finished off all the thugs with guns, go up to the slightly higher level and keep going until you find two lockers. Open the left one to reveal a nice shiny silver reward. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 3/4}- Notice how the very middle of it is shiny? Grapple it and give it a tug to pull it off the wall. It will sway a short way before coming to a halt. Give a little bit more of a convincing with Lara's guns by shooting the support clamps on either top corners to send it flying downwards. Once the tv is down, go up onto either of the short stairs that lead to a locked door and jump from the stairs to the back of the now fallen tv. There are two more thugs on the little area behind the tv so be prepared to waste them as fast as possible as they are partially covered but the hieght of the tv. After polishing off the two thugs you will notice a small door directly opposite the large tv. Go through this door and do a 180 to face the master puzzle of this level. [MASTER PUZZLE] Ahh now this looks complicated, you say! Actually no its not really, as there is only one way to skin this cat, it makes it far less difficult than the previous two master puzzles. The fact is, its linear - there is only one way to do it and its pretty obvious every step of the way. Well lets get on with it shall we. To the left side of the door, as Lara exits the room, is a pipe that goes upwards. Climb it as far as Lara will go, then look at the small box to her right and jump to it. Lara will cling onto the side of it. Shimmy around the side of it and jump up and onto the platform above her. Then turn left to see the next platform which is on its end and needs to be moved. Grapple the shiny part of it and give it a yank. It will swing on its axis and lock into the flat horizontal position. Now run up and jump onto the end of it. Lara will grab onto the edge of it. Pull her up and move to the other end of the platform. Jump to the next platform in her current direction and then climb the ladder to the next level up. Turn around and notice the next shiny area of the up ended platform. Grapple it and pull it to give Lara a horizontal bar with which to jump onto and swing onto the platform beyond it. On that platform is a vertical pipe. Once at the top of that pipe, turn around and see the small platform with which to jump to. After successfully jumping to that platform, look beyond it to see yet another vertical piping just off to the left. At the top of that pipe, if you look back the other direction you will notice a horizontal pipe on the bottom side of the up ended platform. Jump onto this and the platform will swiverl up and end up horizontal. Once its in place jump back to the vertical piping and climb up again. At the top of the pipe, jump onto the now horizontal platform but beware! The other side of this platform acts like a pendulum. If Lara hangs too long on the other end of the platform, it will turn back vertical and Lara will fall. And fall a great distance down. So keep moving whilst you jump from that platform to the next. Now comes a little tricky part. The piping in front of Lara is not entirely secure. And neither are the next railings that Lara will need to jump to. At the very top of this pipe, look back across the building and jump to one horizontal railing after another with no misses or else Lara will fall to her death. Just jump straight to the first one as soon as your at the top, swing once and jump to the next one and so on until Lara is on the balcony. [TAKAMOTO'S HOME] OK time for some killin to happen. Revenge for having to take the dangerous route. Enter the building and take a look at the bad guys who have their backs to Lara. Move to the edge of the stairs and grab Lara's assault rifle. Notice the chandelier above their heads? Hehe guess what buddies?! Shoot the chandelier with the E or interact key to send the chandelier crashing onto their heads. LOL! Instead of going down the steps, go immediately right and around the bend to shoot up the thugs that would snipe you from a balcony if you had went down the stairs. Once they are taken care of, there are only two out of the four down the bottom left to kill. Jump down and waste em only Lara knows how. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before you hop down to the lower level, there is a wooden box with a bronze reward in it. Shoot it to get the reward. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 6/6}- /#####################################################################\ Before you leave this area, check in the little room in the corner of the room. One of the cupboards contains a silver reward, the last one of the level. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 4/4}- OK now in the next room, which is shaped like an L, there is a death trap with an easy fix. At the middle of the L is a ball, and below the L is a small room with computers and a button on the wall. The button activates the sprinkler system and illuminates the infrared laser trip wires across the hall at the top of the L. The computers will allow you to view security cameras around there area. At the top of the L shaped room is a sentry gun. If Lara was to move into the laser trip wires, the gun would track her and shoot her. To fix this, grab the ball and move it in front of you whilst you go through the trip wires. The gun will fire, but the rounds will only hit the ball, not Lara. After you have finished going through the trip wires, the gun will cease fire and go silent. Brilliant! Go around the bends and into the next room to notice a big huge dragon above a long table. There is a trick to this little dragon. As you enter the room, Takamoto will yell at Lara from behind the glass. Lara, as usual gets her wise cracking tongue out and fires Takamoto up. As soon as the cinematic is over, three thugs will enter the room from the opposite direction. All of em are shotgun weilding ones, so stay out of range and pound them. After they drop, jump onto the table and look for the shiny metal object underneath the dragon. From a position below its tail section, and facing its front end, grapple the dragon and give it a good solid yank. The dragon will swing and just manage to smash the glass. Ahh the exit to the room! Climb up and onto this new level and go around the bend, ignoring the elevator for an instant. Around the bend and on a table are three guns, collect them if you need the ammo. /$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$\ Just before leaving this little room, grab the big reddish box that looks like a chest of drawers or something like that. Bring it all the way back to the elevator. Push it over the edge and watch it drop. When it smashes open, it will reveal the gold reward for this level! Well done! \$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/ -{Gold 1/1}- Grab and ammo you find and if you find any health kits about, replenish your stock. If you have 95% health and the max of 3 med packs, use one and collect another off the ground. The next bit you will probably need every inch of life. Enter the elevator when done. [TAKAMOTO] As soon as Lara exist the elevator Takamoto explains his story of the sword fragment. Lara cares not and explain thus. Unfortunately Takamoto then explains why it is so prized by him. With a physical demonstration of course! He launches a bolt of green energy from the sword fragment/staff at Lara and races off. Lara dodges the bolt and control is then given to you. As soon as you have control, move Lara behind one of the big ass statues and then climb the pole that lies behind each one. There are guns on the lower level which automatically target and fire at Lara, so speed is of importance here. As soon as you are at the top of the pole, jump backwards and she will be on the same level as Takamoto. Whip out your guns if he is near enough for a red targeting reticle to appear on him and fire. If not holster them as they slow you down. Remember, which Takamoto, speed is of the essence. Now the trick to winning over this guy, is the fact that he fires 3 types of green bolts - one at head hieght which you roll to avoid - one at knee hieght which you can easily jump over - and a vertical one which Lara needs to side step or run to the side to avoid. Try to avoid as many as possible as they take about 1/4 to 1/3 of Lara's health off each hit. Now, when you are up at his hieght, race up to about 10m from him and pull out your assault machine gun and pummel him with everything Lara has. Always be aware to avoid the green bolts in the described ways. Roll for the one at head hieght and jumping the ones at knee hieght. If you get too close, Takamoto will launch a vertical green bolt at Lara which you need to side step to avoid. Follow these steps and he shouldnt be too hard. Remember, this guide is designed for the hardest difficulty. So if i can relatively easily kill him consecutively, it shouldnt be too hard for you either. Just keep in mind that avoiding his green bolts is more important than scoring hits on him. [LEVEL COMPLETE NOTES] After Takamoto is lying on the ground dying, he curses Lara but she just ignores him. She grabs the staff, snaps it in half and suddenly notices Nishimura in a helicopter above the building waving to her. Lara grabs onto the rope ladder and climbs aboard. Zip tells her that Rutland is in Ghana, Africa and that may be her next port of call. A cinematic will play with Lara gorging her eyes on the beautiful sight. After a moment, Lara will catch a glimpse of Rutlands helicopter and the game will be on. [MECHANISM] Now, perform a nice swan dive all the way down into the pool at the bottom and come back up for air. As soon as Lara is at the surface move her to the middle island and climb up. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before you get too engrossed in the mechanism thingy on the island, in the pool at the bottom, are two bronze rewards - one is on the right side of the island. Jump in and swim down to it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 1/5}- /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ The other bronze reward in the pool, is the on the other side of the island in the pool at the bottom. Jump in and swim down to that one too. Swim back to the island for now. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 2/5}- There are two platforms to the right side - one above the other. Climb them and at the top of the second one jump to the small rope in the middle of the mechanism thingy. Lara's miniscule weight will pull down the latch securing the wall thingy in place. Once that is done, release the rope and then grapple the top shiny bit of the wall thingy and give it a good pull. It will turn over and a cinematic will play with the entire wall of water on the waterfall parting to reveal a gigantic temple. Very impressive! After a few seconds, Rutland will appear on a distant level up on the temple and have a good old chat with Lara. Lara will beckon for him to come down and chat where she is, but of course, he refuses. /#####################################################################\ Before you go into the temple itself, move onto the bridge thingy Lara pulled down, and jump off to either side. Swim beneath the bridge and you will see a small tunnel below the island. Swim into it and you will see the first silver reward. Nab it and either turn around and get back onto the bridge or keep swimming forward and get out that way. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 1/4}- [TEMPLE] Go into the temple and down the steps turning right at the bend. When you come to a pool of water, look into the distance. You will notice some ropes and a small raft. The raft can be grappled. Do so and pull it all the way to Lara. Jump aboard and then run and jump to the nearby rope. Swing on that rope until you can successfully jump to the next from. From that rope swing and jump to the solid ground beyond. At the other end, go down the corridor and around the bend. Up the stairs and through the doorwar. Keep going around the bend until you come to some weird looking horizontal spikes sticking out from the wall. This is actually a trap that has been stopped mid action. But something is holding up the works. We will find out soon enough. Jump over them and continue down the hall and turn right. More suspended traps. Jump and roll past them. You will notice that Lara stepped on a pressure plate that opened the door. You need to be quick getting past the suspended spikes before the door closes. Roll past the door if you must. [MERC CAMP] As soon as you are past the door, run behind the wall of boxes before Lara is seen. Plan your attack on the group of mercs and then race across the bridge to the right. You need to get to the far side as soon as possible because they have a fixed gun up on the upper platform which they can bring to bear on Lara when she is seen. A good little trick is to use the explosive barrel at the other side to take out a few mercs in one shot. Wait until the merc are the bottom moves as close to that barrel as possible then aim precisely at the barrel and with one or two shots BOOM! One merc dead by the explosion and a second or third from the ensuing collaplse of the level above! As soon as you start shooting, the mercs will fire back. There are two at the bottom right, three at the second level - one will use the heavy machine gun emplacement - and one that wanders across the bridge and back to the barrel below the second level. Waste em all on the ground and move up to the landing on the right side of the second level. Climb up an turn left to face the last two on this side. After they have been dealt with, grab the gun emplacement and fire on the two new mercs that have appeared from where Lara came from. Waste em all and enjoy it. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ On the landing which you just climbed up onto, there is a bronze reward staring Lara in the face. Show it whos boss by grabbing it. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 3/5}- Now you can either use the machine gun emplacement to shoot the pillar next to the blocked up water wheel thingy or use the rope to swing a boot it onto the wheel. Either way a cinematic will show the pillar hitting the wheel, the other pillar breaking, the spikes in the tunnel where Lara came from moving again, and a tunnel up higher with spikes that are not moving. If you are on the rope swing and jump to the wheel. If not, jump onto the rope and swing to the wheel anyway. Wait until you are right at the other side of the wheel by simply hanging on and when the wheels spin starts to move Lara away from the far rope, jump to it. [TROLLEY] On the rope, jump to the nearby platform and turn right. You will notice a kind of trolley hanging from the ceiling. Grapple it and pull it towards Lara. Jump on and then grapple the solid metal barrel on the next platform ahead. When in range, jump to the platform. Now since the works arent working, we need to go and make it work! Turn around and then jump to the rope. Swing and jump to the waterwheel (which has not got water!) and then swing and jump to the other side of the wheel. Now swing and jump to the ridged ladder and start climbing up. Once at the top, find the next ridged ladder and climb that up as far as it goes and find the ledge to the left of the ladder and jump to it. Once on the ledge shimmy around a little to the left and jump up to the ledge directly above it. Now shimmy around the corner and position Lara below the rung ladder, ready to jump up to it. On this ladder, continue up and rise up to the level above it. Once up in the spillway, continue down the corridor and stop at the end of the level. Whip out Lara's guns and look for the dangerous creature below. Shoot it and jump down into the area below. Notice the small raft on the ground to Lara's diagonal left. [SPILLWAY] OK, turn Lara around to the right and find the small steps that have been broken off half way. Go to these and jump up and climb onto the top of these. Go down the other side of the steps and around the bend. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Just on the corner around the bend is the fourth bronze reward. Grab it and continue around the bend. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 4/5}- On the bend you will notice a couple blocks, this is a stepping stone for where you have to go. Go around the back of them and climb on top to find a suspended pair of huge blocks. Jump to the first and wait until the second block rises to about head hieght before jumping up onto it. The reason for waiting is obvious once you are on the second block. You now have access to the ridged ladder beyond it. As soon as possible, jump up onto the ridged ladder and rise up onto the level above it. Once at the top a small cinematic will play showing the water, pully system, spillway gate, second raft, rope for the pully system and the exit which Lara came from. From where Lara is, turn around to the left and notice the pillar has a small ledge for which Lara may grab onto. Jump to it and shimmy around the corner. Release her grip and she will fall to the ledge below it and grab onto it. Look to the left and find the next ledge with which Lara can jump to. Release her grip when she is on that ledge and she will grab onto the next ledge down. Finally, release her grip again and she will fall to the floor. [RAFTING] Turn around and you will see a small raft - the second raft we saw before. Grapple it to bring it closer to Lara and jump onto it. Once on the raft, look for the pillar with the metal lining. Grapple it and pull Lara towards it. Once Lara is on the move, look through the opening to the left - the raft will drift through it anyway. Once through the opening look for the next pillar to grapple. /#####################################################################\ Just before Lara jumps onto the platform from the raft, jump into the water and, when looking at the metallic pillar, if you look diagonally back to the left, across the pool, is a low ledge that Lara can climb out of water. Go there, turn around to the right and up on the higher level is a silver reward. Go back to the second metallic pillar when your done. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 2/4}- When Lara is close enough to the platform that is next to the metallic lined pillar, jump to it. Look to the left wall and find the ridged ladder leading up into the distance. Climb this ladder to the very top and be prepared to do a blind jump. I had to release the direction keys and press jump to make a successful backwards jump onto the suspended block so maybe you might have to do the same. Once on the block await the correct hieght of the next block like before and once it reaches head hieght, jump onto it. As soon as Lara is on this block, like before, run up and jump onto the ladder or the platform above it directly. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ When Lara gets onto the next platform, just behind a pillar is a bronze reward. Nab it and continue. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 5/5}- As soon as Lara is on the platform the grapple swing icon should appear, indicating that Lara may grapple and swing from a metallic item above the next gap. Run and jump/grapple swing to the next platform. On this platform, you will see another pillar with a groove in it that Lara can jump to and hang from. On that ledge, go around the corner and drop to the ledge below it. Around the bend on this pillar, jump up to the ledge above it and then backwards onto the ledge directly behind Lara. Shimmy around the corner and onto the ledge on the wall itself. Drop down a level and move right, jumping across the broken gap. Once at the end of this ledge, jump up to the ledge above it and then jump right and onto the platform beyond. [SMALL PUZZLE] On this platform is a pressure button that activates a mechanism on the statue beside the platform. The mechanism is in fact some form of restraints on the statue. Apply pressure and the restrain closest to the button will release, allowing movement. Also applying pressure to the plate turns the platform beneath the corresponding restraint. For the one closest to Lara, it will turn over, dropping its block to the floor below, turn one more time and stop. Once the moving platform has ceased movement - face it and run/jump to it and without delay, jump to the solid platform beyond. Once on this platform, jump to the next moving platform and again to the solid platform beyond that. On this platform, you will notice another pressure plate but also a small movable block. Grab this block and move it onto the nearby button and watch the outcome. The closest restraint will open and the platform before it will turn over. Once it has finished turning over, jump to the platform with the first button. Jump on it and release the other restraint. As soon as its all the way open, race to the middle platform in front of the statue and grapple the small circle in the middle of its chest and yank it as far as it will go. You dont have a lot of time to acheive this before one of the restrainst closes again so be fast. Once this has been acheived, a short cinematic will play, showing the water, which is now rising enough to start pouring all the way back to the water wheel back near the start of the temple. Move to the far button platform with the block on it and turn the right. If you look a little lower you will notice two more blocks suspended from the roof. Jump to the first, await the second before jumping to it, and finally to the ridged ladder and up onto that level. Now, basically jump into the water from here and make your way all the way back to the water wheel which now has water. Since you already know the steps involved in getting where Lara is now so i wont bother giving surpurfluous information. [RETURN TO THE WHEEL] Once back at the ridged ladder before the water wheel, climb down it and near the bottom a small cinematic will play with the spiked trap now active. Wonderful. Jump to the wheel, across it to the other side, onto the rope and onto the platform beyond. OK this part is a little tricky but can easily be solved. It involves spike traps and spinning blades. The spike traps involves timing. Observe the timing of the spikes and start moving Lara as soon as the spikes are just starting to move. Do a roll to make sure that Lara passes unharmed. Once past the spikes, its the spinning blades. This one looks tricky but a sly bit of thinking solves this without breaking a sweat. Just before the blades is a large block - grab it and move it into the blades. Cha-ching! The blades hit it and cease spinning. Be careful not to go to far or the blades will touch Lara from behind. As soon as all or just one side of the trap has ceases spinning, jump onto the block and proceed past them. Keep going past the stairs and bends until the next spinning blades trap. This time the block is sitting in the wall just before the bend in the corridor. Grab it and move it into the blades just far enough to stop all or one side of them. Jump onto it as before and leave em in Lara's dust. Now comes another of those interactive movie sequences where Lara is controlled by you but your vision is attached to the dangerous object. This time its a bug huge ball AKA Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Do just as Doctor Jones does and race through all the dead traps. Immediately move to the right side of the corridor and jump the dead spike trap. Then move to the other side of the corridor and roll beneath the dead spike trap. Now race to the small gap further down and jump over it. From then on a cinematic will play with Lara racing through the gap beyond the pit of spikes and diving to the side allowing the ball to pass by her safely. "I've missed Ghana!" /#####################################################################\ On this platform where the ball went flying off the edge, you will notice on its way down it knocked a small peice of rock off a platform below the one Lara is on. This is a hint. Look to the left and you will see a ridged ladder going down. If you go down it, and search the area below, you will find a nice silver reward. NICE! \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 3/4}- [POST BALL] OK, on the platform Lara is on now, there is a pole sticking out from the wall to the right of it. Jump to it and then jump to the small ledge beyond. Once on it go around the bend by shimmying and jump up to the level above it. Go around the bend and jump across the gap, backwards, onto the ledge opposite Lara. Very quickly jump up to the ledge above Lara and jump backwards onto the horizontal pole before Lara is crushed beneath a falling rock. Swing to the next pole and onto the next ledge. Lara will attempt to contact Zip again but will not succeed. Unforunately neither Zip nor Allister are able to reply. Turn right on the platform and jump to the suspended trolley. From this, jump to the platform slightly below Lara. The trolley will lower slightly, allowing Lara to easily jump onto the level from where she is. Run and jump onto the next trolley and then onto the next level platform. Turn around to the right and jump to the horizontal pole, then the ledge right next to it. Shimmy around the bend and jump up to the ledge above it. Now be quick as another rock is ready to drop onto Lara, so quickly shimmy right and jump onto the awaiting horizontal pole. Jump from this pole, to the next one across and slightly above, then back to the pole slightly higher and to the left. Finally jump onto the awaiting ledge and very quickly move around the bend before the falling rock pounds Lara from above. Jump to the ledge above this one and go around the bend again. Finally jump from this ledge to the opposite platform which, thankfully is fully solid. Go into the tunnel entrance and down the steps. A cinematic will play with Lara recovering one of her parent's little medallions and again attempts to contact Zip. No luck still. Proceed down the corridor. [DARK TUNNEL] Turn the Personal Light Source on and be wary of pits. There are two of them, and Lara must grapple swing across both of them. Do so and eventually you will come across a bridge with 3 mercs guarding it. Waste them and cross the bridge. Heal/re-arm and continue down the passage and finally out into another open area. Once Lara is outside again, turn right and jump straight onto the horizontal pole and then the next one in the line. From that one, jump to the ledge nearby. /#####################################################################\ From this ledge, you should be able to jump across to the ledge on the other side of the small waterfall coming out of a pipe. When you reach it, let go. Keep Lara where she is and look to the left of the ledge Lara was just on. There is a door of some kind. Not for long. Throw a grenade to blow it away. When its gone, there is a silver reward just behind the door. Grab it and move back across the small waterfall and onto the original ledge. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 4/4}- Now go up one ledge, go around the bend, up another 2 ledges, around a corner, up one more ledge and backwards jump onto a horizontal pole. Jump to the next pole in the line and then finally onto a platform beyond. Now for some fun. Walk up to the barrels and grapple every one on the other bank of the river. Yank em all and ungrapple when they are in the water. Do this to all of them on the other side of the river. Now cross the bridge and do the same again. The reason for this will be apparent shortly. [BIG WATERFALL] Get ready for some gunnin. Go to the steps on the wall side of the river and pass down in the gap and start pummeling the mercs. there is a miniboss merc here and he has a brand new gun. Dont attack until you can get a red reticle as you are simply wasting too many bullets when the reticle is grey. Just keep murdering them until the three mercs on your part of the area are gone. Now keep going down here until you reack a box at the end of the platform. From here you should be able to get a red reticle for the merc and miniboss merc on the platform beyond the gap. If not move out of sight and back again. Now comes the pain the butt part. The barrels you pulled into the river destroyed the crap the mercs had dangling from the ropes. Thus allowing you to do the unthinkable. Jump out into nothingness and onto those two ropes. Jump to the first and then the second and finally onto the platform beyond. Once on this platform, turn left and go over the small bridge. Grab the new gun if you like but it will most likely only have 3 rounds so be prepared to go back for your previous gun or salvage a gun from a merc. Go into the tunnel and waste another leopard. Go to the left stairs and climb up the broken part. Another ball will fall down the stairs. Either jump downwards to the right or move Lara to the left wall to avoid it. Now jump to the rope in the middle of the room. Either jump to the opposite stairs or back up to the previous stairs a little higher up. At the top is a button that opens the door when pressure is constantly applied to it. Jump on it and wait until its all the way up. /$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$\ Just before you enter the next room, that big ass door you passed just before, the one behind the rope? Well that button dont just open the small door next to the button! It opens the big ass door below! Go down and enter it. As long as you get in you wont be locked in or out. Grab the gold reward to finish off this levels rewards. \$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/ -{Gold 1/1}- When you enter the room, Rutland greets you and begins his monologue. The anger in Lara's eyes is obvious. Time to do battle. [RUTLAND] OK now the trick with Rutland is his ability to heal himself. To heal himself, he jumps onto a platform and initiates the healing process. What actually heals him are little nodes on the underside of those four platforms. These platforms are lightly protected from damange by a layer of rock. Now heres the trick. Blast the rock away, then grapple and yank the nodes from the platforms and voila! 1 less healing platform. Trouble is Rutland moves about all the time and attempts to attack you with his peice of the sword. As well as this he throws grenades at you. 1 to three at a time. First off, whilst he is away from Lara blast one of the protective shields from the nodes and yank it off. Now start back on Rutland. He will retire from the fight and heal himself on the platform. Use this time to either waste all the shields at once then yank them all one after another or do each node seperately. Its up to you. Just dont let Rutland get close and watch out for the grenades. [LEVEL COMPLETE NOTES] Lara is not too happy with Rutland and says that the next time Lara and Rutland meet, she will not be in a happy mood. :) Zip finally reaches Lara and communicates some information about what happened. After a brief talk to Zip and co, Lara comes to a break in a wire fence and looks down upon the mayhem unfolding below. The mercs of the previous couple encounters are fighting it out with the resident russian guards - and winning. Lara insists on going down and crashing the party. Lara prepares to parachute down and commence an attack from above. [LEVEL BEGINS] Lara stands on the edge of a cliff, facing the encampment swarming with merc guards. Simply run and jump off the cliff - Lara has a parachute. This initiates another interactive movie sequence where you must press the down or back key at the appropriate time - when the white arrow points down on the screen. About 30 metres up from the ground the arrow will show up allowing Lara to glide onto the roof of the nearby building. There is a nice gun emplacement sitting right there ready to give Lara spruce of life! Grab the gun and start wasting left and right. At last count, standing on the roof, you will encounter about 11-12 guards and about 6 more when you leave the gun and jump down to the ground. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Before you jump down, or if your already down on the ground, use the boxes beside the buildings to get back up, from the gun emplacement, turn right and jump up to the higher roof. Now look to the pylon nearby. There is a horizontal pole on it that Lara can jump to and swing to the boxes beyond it. Once on the boxes, jump up and onto the roof. There is a single box here. Shoot it and gain the bronze reward. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 1/5}- Waste em all and jump down and be ready to go down guns blazing. Empty those clips at em as they will just keep comin. There are about 4 in the building when you get to it. Race in, rolling and diving and gunnin until they are all suckin dirt. When all are lying face down, go back out and start collecting ammo and health packs as needed. Like always if you have 3 med packs already, but only have like 95% health, and you see a health pack on the ground, heal and then pick it up as you dont often get a chance to backtrack - and even then the weapons and items disappear soon after you leave the area. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ In the back closet of the building with the popped up glass roof area, there is a glowing sphere, as funny as it looks, thats the reward object for this level. Grab it and go back to the main room. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 2/5}- In the main room of the building, you will see a ladder in the middle of the room. Climb it but beware in a gun nest nearby is a soldier with a bead on Lara. Jump up and out of the roof vent and waste him as soon as you see him. Jump on the roof covering and jump to the nest. Climb up and you will be greeted by at least 3-4 mercs on the ground below you firing up at Lara. Either waste em all from where Lara is now or go down to the roof to the left or down to the fence to the far right via the cabling above Lara's head. [NEST] Either way it dont matter. After the 3 mercs are dealt with jump down onto the ground past the fence. You can use the ground gun emplacement if you so desire but the position makes it pretty useless. /#####################################################################\ Go right around the bend in the road once you are on the ground and find the barrel behind a locked wire gate. Beside the gate is a small damaged section of the fence which is the clue. Step back and fire at the barrel beyond the gate and the ensuing explosion takes care of the gate and the surrounding fence with it. Inside the boxes to the left is a silver reward. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 1/3}- Go into the building diagonally opposite from the nest and the building below it. Lara will supprise a merc guarding two russian military doctors. The cinematic will play showing Lara diving to the side, gun down the merc and then the russians talking with Lara about the fact that she is american/british and whether to give her the access codes. They give in and give her the codes and Lara is on her way. When Lara exits the building, be wary as there will be about 3-4 mercs so start wasting as soon as Lara gets out of the building. [BARRELS] When all are done, go up to the gate with the keypad on the left. Interact with it and Lara will key in the code. As soon as the gate opens, endless barrels will roll down the hill and explode at the open gate. Pick your timing and run through the gate and to the left side of the road. Run up the hill and either kill the mercs or blow up the barrels. Barrels are far more easy and more satisfying. Once they are all gone, enter the building, collecting all the supplies you need on the way. Walk up to the middel control panel and a cinematic will ensue showing Lara access the database and satelite imagery showing the location of the next area and the route the train will take to get there. Apparently the train is about to leave so grab your wits and run to the ladder nearby that leads to the roof. On the top, stand on the open hatch and jump to the nearby ladder, which leads to a telephone line above. [TRAIN STATION] As soon as your on the telephone pylon, grab the line and Lara will slide all the way down it flying fox style. At the next stop go around to the left side and jump on the cable again. At the end and on top of the first building again, jump down fast. Waste as many as you can as fast as you can on your way to the train tunnel. Dont worry you cant catch the train itself. But Lara has a better plan. You only need to get to the bike, which is at the entrance to the train tunnel, as fast as possible. Forget about the mercs. Jump on the bike and the next portion of the level will continue when you start off down the tunnel. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING - I have received an email about a bug in this section - though i cannot confirm it as i havent experienced it - but regardless its good to point out that saving the game here before you enter the tunnel on the bike, is a very good idea. A possible bug which i have sketchy information about lies beyond. As the information states that at a certain section beyond, if Lara drives the bike off a cliff - obviously to her death - the game activates a checkpoint therefore saving the game automatically whilst in the air, on a one way ticket to Lara's death. Upon reloading the game via the checkpoint, Lara is again in midair, falling to her death. I would assume that some people may have experienced it as a few websites also mention it. As to whether it was fixed in 1.1 or 1.2 - well unless the readme states that this has in fact been fixed, i have no way of ascertaining even if the bug really exists. You are therefore forewarned. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [BIKE] OK well I cant really provide help for this section, just like the last bike run. Basically, keep yourself healed at all times and always go after heal packs. Watch out for obstacles and objects in your road. Use the explosive gas bottles to kill off enemies if you get the chance. Keep firing at any bad guys you get a red reticle on - remember you have unlimited ammunition so empty those clips on em. There are two types of enemies here, bikes and the four wheel drive ones with guys firing from the sunroof. Waste the bikes whenever you see em and watch out for the bikes if you kill em in front of you. With the vehicles, they simply cease pursuit if you kill the gunner. Watch out for the vehicles attempting to ram or side-swipe you into an obstacle. Soon enough the train will run into a tunnel and you will have to take the road to the right of the tunnel. From now on, there are no enemies to kill so holster Lara's weapons. Instead, now direct you full attention to riding as the road becomes tricky. The road often splits in two, one going level and sometimes having a wooden suspended bridge and the other going up to a higher level before coming back down. The latter one has signposts which slow Lara down a bit but the safest route is entirely up to you as both have dangerous points. After a while the road will trek back left and finally intersect with the train. When this happens a launch ramp will be there so that Lara may launch into the air above the train and land on the other side of the tracks. As soon as she hits the snow on the other side of the tracks, turn right and go over an identical ramp to go back to the other side. Continue down a kind of tunnel which rises a bit above the train allowing Lara to ride her bike onto the train itself. [ON THE TRAIN] When Lara is on the train slow down a bit and run up the ramp onto the carriages and finally down a ramp back to a lower level. When Lara reaches this lower level, a cinematic will play with Lara getting off the bike and walking up the length of a couple carriages and onto the locomotive. The driver merc will fire at Lara but not realise the danger ahead. Lara sees it and ducks. The merc doesnt and dies. Lara's jacket catches fire and is forced to remove it. Now plays an interactive movie whereby Lara needs to duck from an oncoming beam across the top of the tunnel that the train goes in. Next, Lara shoots the coupling holding a giant drum that will take the brunt of the trains momentum. Finally Lara needs to grapple to the left and swing off the train and onto a platform to safety. [THE TRAIN STATION] As soon as Lara finishes her little cinematic about the fact that she survives and is unharmed, turn around and you will notice two boxes sitting at Lara's feet. You dont need to get down from where Lara is so look back in the direction the train came from - specifically the roof. If you look a little to the right you will notice a rope suspended from the roof with a shiny peice of metal at the top. Grapple this and bring it closer to Lara. Bring it in as close as possible and then jump onto the rope. Await the rope to return back to its original position and then start swinging for the platform at the opposite side of the room from the previous platform. Once on this platform find the ladder to the left and climb to the top. At the top, look right and the yellow billboard type thing is a perfect place to jump and grab onto. From the billboard metal wall, shimmy left until you get to the end and jump left onto the horizontal poles. From this pole, jump to the next one, and then onto an identical yellow billboard type thing. Once on this, simply let go and turn around to view your new surroundings. At the far end of the room, back towards where the locomotive would be, you should see a ! indicating a destroyable object. We will come to that soon. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Drop down to the ground from here and look in the closest corner. There should be a wooden crate there with a bronze reward. Shoot the crate and grab the reward. Climb back up to the platform via the metal box. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 3/5}- Find the identical rope like before and use the grapple to grab it and bring it to Lara so that she may jump onto it. Once on the rope, wait for it to bring Lara out over the fire and then start swinging for the platform beyond. When Lara lands on the platform, bring her guns out and blast the fan we saw before. This is our exit. Now jump to the ledge below the fan, jump up to the fan level and up and into the air duct. Once in the game will indicate a checkpoint. [AIR DUCTS] OK time for a tricky part. Go down the tunnel and around the bend and keep going down a small slope until you are facing an electric circuit across the tunnel. This is a sign of things to come. Jump over the first one, roll under the second one, and you will come to a steel gate with a dead man behind it. This scientist has been dead for some time. You can grab the health pack if you need it and pick up the peice of paper. Lara reads the peice of paper - "The experiment has gone wrong. The KGB sealed the facility." Turn left and jump off the level and onto a horizontal bar. From this bar jump to the rope and ensure you get enough swing before jumping up to the level beyond. Slide down the slope and jump over the electric cables on the way down. At the bottom, turn right and roll underneath the cables. Shoot the fan before continuing. Turn left and continue down the slope, jumping over some more cables before shooting the fan at the bottom. Jump some more cables, roll under even more cables and turn right at the end. Down the slope, jumping over yet more cables before jumping out off the ledge and onto another horizontal pole. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Let go here and fall to the ground. Shoot the crate and grab the bronze reward. Now jump onto the box here, turn around and jump grapple onto the grapple icon. Turn around and swing up to the next ledge above the box to continue. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 4/5}- Jump and grapple at the prompting icon and start swinging. Get a good swing before attempting to swing up and onto the higher ledge beyond. On this ledge, go down the slope, shooting the fan at the base before arriving at the end of the tunnel system. Jump off the ledge and down to the final lower level. [GENERATOR ROOM] /#####################################################################\ Just to the side of the entrance you just came through is two white boxes attached to the wall. Jump on the first one, and vault up to the next one. Now shimmy along the platform to the left until you can lift Lara up onto the platform. Turn right and follow the path. A shiny metal handle will glow beyond a small gap in the platform. Grapple and pull the handle to oepn the cage. Jump to the cage and shoot the crate to find and grab the silver reward there. Jump back down when done. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 2/3}- In this big room, you will find a big map on the right side wall, but its written in Russian. Here is the translation: "Plan of the Electrical Systems #4 * Electromagnetic Cannon, * Tower, * Road/Track, * Power, * Electricity." Thanks to "Nero" for the translation. This map is actually a powered wall map with glowing dots - but of course, with no power it dont glow! Time to get that power on. First up, upon entering the room, turn right and find a low metal cabinet. We arent interested in whats in it - we want to get on top of it. From the top jump and grab the metal box on the left wall, then jump to the platform to Lara's right. Climb onto this platform and then jump further down the side of the room to the next platform. Turn right and go past the machine and on the right side of the platform, and from this vantage point, on the left side of the generator is a rope dangling from a small crane near the roof. Jump from the platform to this rope and Lara will bring down a piping that connects to the generator. This is a fuel line and will give the generator power. Lara will disconnect from the rope when she has acheived the goal. Now go around to the other side of the generator and find the shiny metal circle on its side. This is the generator starter - grapple it and pull it to start the generator. Power will come online and the map on the opposite wall will glow. Go back to the Map and note that the Russian cryllic equivalent of Electricity is glowing - we have Electricity. But the node for Power is flashing. Power is not getting through. Also note that a door in the room, that was locked is now unlocked. Also take note of the map layout. We are in the room with the solid red big red dot. This is the generator room and since the light symbol is solid red - its online - we have acheived one of 5 goals. The next goal is through a door in the left side of the room, whilst looking at the map, and back to the south. Thats where we are going. [GAS] Since this place is literally falling apart - as all Russian buildings do - coolant is leaking all over the place. In the corridor through the door, the gas is spilling into the area we need to pass through. To get past this, we need to go over it. In the corridor is a small platform above the gas, jump up onto it and jump to the horizontal bar directly over the gas. From here, jump to the next platform and then to the next horizontal pole. Jump to the rope and finally onto another platform. There is another small platform nearby in the corridor around the bend. Jump to this and stop. Look up and to Lara's right. You will see a spark moving across the horizontal pole that is across the right wall. We need to shimmy all the way along this whilst avoiding the spark as its kinda damaging. Jump on the next platform and onto it when the spark is ahead of Lara and shimmy as fast as she can to the other end. Once at the end, let go and find the next platform at head hieght. Now there is a pole going right through the middle of the corridor here that also has a moving spark on it. Do the same here as before. Jump down from the pole onto a small platform and then down to the ground again next to the door. Go through the door and a cinematic will play. [GRAVITY GUN] Lara will see Amanda doing something, and attempt to reason with her, but she is not in a reasoningwith mood. PMS i guess. She will get pissed and order her guards to stop her and let loose a grenade and destroy the bridge. Fine then! We will find out own way out. First off, you can do what i did and toss a grenade at the merc at the bottom of the pit or shoot him when you get down there. Slide down the now broken bridge and collect ammo and medkit. Go back and move toward the new area west of the bridge. There is a merc here with a shield so weapons arent going to do much good on their own. Use the roll tactic where you have Lara's weapons out and are facing the merc, run at him and roll. Lara will slide toward him, trip him up - therefore nullifying his shield - and allow you to paste him whilst he is on the ground. On the other side of the tesla coil towers is another guard without a shield. /%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%\ Near to the guard with no shield is a brone reward sitting out in the open. Grab it and continue on. \%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%/ -{Bronze 5/5}- Nearby is a tesla tower at ground level that has a spark on it. Jump on it after the spark and follow it up without touching it. At the top jump to the nearby level. Jump up the next level and turn around. You will see a horizontal pole - jump to this and then to the rope a bit further out. Turn around and face the next tesla tower and swing jump to it. This tesla tower does not have a spark to you can rest for a minute. OK in order to get a successful jump from tesla tower to tesla tower, you need to have Lara's body on the closer side to the next tesla tower and be at the very top of it. Jump to two consecutive towers and onto the level beyond. Another scientist will give you the cold sholder but give you a medkit. The peice of paper Lara picks up is an interesting story: Lara reads "They funneled tesla energy into the artefact, and there was an enourmous discharge of some sort. The KGB shut down the operation, removed the core, sealed off the lab in sections, and left behind those scientists who werent forcibly removed." Alister replies "A peculiar turn of events." /#####################################################################\ Whilst looking at the power array, if you turn around and blow the barrel behind the locked gate, it will blow the gate away and allow access to the silver reward beyond. \#####################################################################/ -{Silver 3/3}- To the left is the main power array with a grapple section so that you may grapple the door and pull it open. Ignore it for now but remember it for later. Proceed down the corridor following the tracks and into the next room. [POWER CELL] In the corridor you will find small dangling objects - they are harmless, now, but later, keep in mind that they are shiny. This means grappleable. Continue down the corridor and around the bend until you get to a part where there is more gas. Above the gas is a small platform. Use this to cross over the top of the gas. Jump from the platform to the horizontal bar to the next platform. From here jump onto the horizontal bar that fits snuggly across the entrance to a brand new room. This room is the one with the 3 flashing red dots from the map. If you look up you will see the 3 tesla globes it represented. But more importantly you will also notice about 6 mercs in this room guarding the area. Dispose of them only Lara knows how. Once all of them are huggin the ground, move over to the small Lara sized square shiny block on the track. This is the power cell - uncharged power cell, but the power cell nonetheless. What we need to do is turn the power on here, and move that cell back to the main power array with a full charge. First off, move the power cell along its tracks a bit until is closer to the broken rung ladder. Now jump onto the ladder and climb up to the top. Jump to the platform nearby and a cinematic will play. Amanda stole a headset when she visited Croft Manor recently. She taunts Lara about being a scientist and not a avid believer in myths. Jump from the platform to the horizontal pole, to the next platform. Stop yelling at Amanda to shut the f--k up and turn right. Jump from the platform to the rope in the middle of the room and from the rope to the power node in the middle of the room. Go right around this and jump from the other side to the horizontal pole beyond. Then from the pole to the next platform. Now we can reach the other broken ladder. Jump to this ladder and it will go down. Of course thats the wrong way - we want to go up. Re-climb it and jump right onto the platform. Continue down this platform and find and jump to the rope nearby. Swing from this rope to the room. In this room you will find another dead scientist. If you pick up the peice of paper, Lara reads "He writes that at least a dozen of his colleagues were killed in the experiment. The artefact converted the tesla voltage into something else... a wave of concussive force of some kind." Alister replies "Thats familiar enough, so why were they shut down?" and Lara adds, "... ugh... they refused to repeat the experiment, and when the KGB tried to persuade them otherwise, it got nasty." Grab the medkit and look for the lever on the wall closest to the power cell. The power nodes will come alive with electricity and charge the power cell. Its only a third of the power needed so we need to juice it up a bit. Go back down to the floor and move to the far side of the power cell. Grapple it and start moving it along the tracks. The pure power will pound the peices of junk on the track so dont worry about them. Keep moving it on the track and the other two power nodes will charge the power cell. One last tug and the door will blast open and the power cell will continue down its track. [POWERED GRAVITY GUN] Go through the now open doorway and jump onto the platform as before and then to the horizontal pole and finally to the next platform. Jump down and go around the corner. Follow the power cell down its tracks and around the bend and the little things dangling from the roof will be charged, just like the power cell itself. This means you cant touch it or go near it. But Lara can grapple it and make them swing - thus moving them away from the power source whilst they are not right next to the power lines on the sides of the wall. Grapple both sides and try to time them so that they swing roughly beside each other. Once you acheive this, you will be able to run or roll through them within the second its not charged and continue onwards. Grapple and pull the single next one and go around the bend. Now perform the same task here with the next set of 4. Grapple and pull all four and run through them when they swing away from the piping at the bottom of their swing. OK the power cell in the next room will have stopped as the door is closed. Open the door by grappling the side and pulling it open - holding it open until the power cell is all the way into the power array. Release it and bingo, all power is up. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING: I received another email regarding yet another bug that i have not seen nor heard of previously. Apparently some people have met with a bug that causes the door that sparks and jars to disallow Lara to get through anyway possible. If anyone can provide me with a video or youtube link showing this i would be grateful. After some research on the internet i have found a possible solution to this bug. Even though i havent seen it myself. When you had to jump from the last tower to the level with the power array on it, before you get to the room with the power cell sitting idly in it, you can in fact jump to the area where the last silver reward is - you can grab onto the top of the cage and pull yourself up. From here, Lara can jump to a small outcropping near to the platform that you could not get to because a merc destroyed the bridge. Lara cannot stay on this ledge and must jump as soon as she arrives at the very edge - and land on the metal ledge across the pit. I have read that this is entirely possible but i am yet to try it - i havent encountered the bug so i dont see the point. Let me know if anyone has acheived this. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turn right and go through the sparking doorway, carefully timing the opening and closing so as to not restart or stop Lara's heart with a jolt. Once in the room, proceed to the table in the middle and a cinematic will play with Lara spying a shield on the table in which a map is inscribed on the back of. Lara also notices that there might actually be another peice of the set. Grab the medkit from the dead scientist and and go through another timed sparking doorway. If you pick up the peice of parper, Lara will continue, "A number of minor relics were recovered along with the artefact. The poor fellow couldnt find anyone to help him study it." "I empathise, but why the lack of interest?" Alister asks. "They were too contemporary for serious study. It seems they date from as recently as the new millenium." Lara explains. "I am sorry but am i missing something? How old exactly is this artefact we're looking for?" Alister asks again. "Older than you'd think." Lara replies. Once on the other side of the door, you will notice that we are back at the start of this section, just after the generator room. The gravity gun on the left is now fully operational and awaiting Lara's feminine touch! Jump onto the gun and turn it around to face the dangling platform in the middle of the pit. First off, before you go any further, to make life a little easier and a little more fun :P grab some barrels with the gravity gun using the G key and use primary fire to toss them at the mercs on the other side. There are three of them so enjoy the fun while it lasts! Dont worry, the mercs cant hurt you whilst in the gun as the gun puts out a shield of some kind around the gun, effectively shielding you from their gunshots. Use the G key to grab the platform and gently move it by turning slowly to the right. Once you cant move it any further, release it and exit from the gun. /$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$\ Now this is very difficult to acheive but its worth it. Before you exit the gun, look to the right above the red piping. There are four boxes inside the wall. Pull them all out with the gravity gun. Once they are all out, grab the hanging platform in the middle of the pit and swing it all the way back left and then immediately back right really fast and constantly pressing the grab button G. Just before it reaches the end, let go of the G key and start firing the primary button at the very top of the platform - the pulley that holds it via 4 cables. Fire repeatedly at the pulley until it moves to a higher level on its track. You will know you acheived it when the platform goes up higher and further than you normally would be able to. Remember you are relying on momentum to help you as well as the primary fire of the gravity gun - push - on the pulley that holds the platform and not the platform itself. Once it is all the way to the end, jump out of the gun and find the big square metal box on a level just higher than the level Lara is on. Grab and move this box as close to the red pipes as possible and jump on it. Move to the left of the box and then jump onto the little ledge you created in moving the small boxes out of the wall. Shimmy around along and vault up to the ledge above it. On that ledge, shimmy all the way around the corner and let go when Lara is above a platform. From the platform the hanging platform that we moved before should be right next to another platform at the very end of the pit. If not then you havent moved it far enough so go back to the gravity gun and keep at it. If it is then jump to it and again up to the end platform. From here look at the wall that is the same side as the ledge you came from - there should be a small tunnel with a gold reward in it beyond a horizontal pipe. Jump to the pipe and then to the tunnel. Go into the tunnel and grab the gold reward. Phew! Now we can continue on. Jump back to the horizontal pole and back to the end platform. Get back on the movable platform and finally back onto the platform with the now open door. \$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/ -{Gold 1/1}- [STEEL RAFTING] OK here is a bit of fun for ya. Jump onto the platform in the tunnel and grapple the nearby shiny thing. Give it a good pull and the platform will begin to move towards it. But of course there is a pipe in the road. Ungrapple and shoot it and the next one and they will fall away and out of the way of Lara's metal raft. Grapple the next shiny metal object and pull the raft to the bend. Once there jump onto the next movable metal raft. Now this is a tricky part. From here, grapple and pull the shiny metal object at the far end of the corridor and pull it. The raft will begin moving. Let go as soon as Lara pulls the grapple and duck and hold the duck. Lara will pass underneath a sparking horizontal pole. Jump from the platform to the next one and do the same here. Grapple the shiny metal object, shoot the piping, grapple the further shiny metal object amd this time jump over the sparking horizontal pole. Jump down at the end of the corridor from the platform down to the ground and turn right. There is nothing on the other tunnel but a dead end. Once at the end of the tunnel, you will face the boss of the level. Amanda's new pet - a young beast. [AMANDA'S YOUNG BEAST] The trick here... well there aint no trick to defeating the young beast as you arent spose to defeat it. Lara will apologise to Amanda and offer to work together with her. Amanda refuses and then proceeds to unleash the young beast. Lara is shocked that a former close friend is unleashing a seemingly unbeatable beast intent on killing her. Now ignore the young beast and concentrate on running to the four control panels on all four sides of the room Lara is now in. Activate the four switches and the four tesla nodes on the roof will become active. Run to the middle of the room to find another gravity gun sitting there. Jump into it and move it around to face the nodes. If the creature gives you any trouble, just use the primary fire button to push it away. Or if you really wanna have some quality time to yourself, grab onto the beast with the G key, hold the G key to hold it securely and move the gun to face one of the four tesla coils at any of the four sides of the room and use the primary fire button to toss it into the coil. The beast will be zapped of life but just before death, Amanda will recall it and it will be healed. This gives you about a 20-30 seconds of grace. OK now to the task at hand. Face the gun at one of the four tesla nodes hanging from the roof and fire the gun at them 2-3 times consecutively. This will push the node into the line of electricity and charge the node. As soon as the first one is active, quickly move around to the other three, moving them and activating them as fast as possible before the creature returns. Once the circle is complete, jump out of the gun and grapple the sword fragment that sites right above the gravity gun and a cinematic will play with Lara grabbing the peice and the beast vanishing. Amanda will flee out a back door and the glass floor will break - allowing Lara a way out. She will jump down into the open area below and find a tunnel exit. [LEVEL COMPLETE NOTES] As Lara crawls down the tunnel, Lara will talk to Zip and co about the discovery that Alister has made that the next port of call - to find out more about the sword and the myth - is none other than Cornwall (dont ask, i have no idea where Cornwall is other than the fact that its in England somewhere) in England. Lara proceeds down the tunnel offering up a challenge to Amanda to beat her there first. Now, at the main menu, choose replay level. Now start the level and play for a few seconds. Next exit out of the level and go back to the main menu. Now go back to the same level you just played but this time, on a difficulty level rather than time trial. Now start playing and once you get to a checkpoint that you want to start the time trial again from, cause yourself to die. Now upon respawning the time trial clock will have begun, from your current location rather than at the start of the level! NOTE: This only works on some version of the game as some have been tested and disproven, whilst testing on a different version worked. My guess is there is something different in the copies from different parts of the world. All cheat codes must be unlocked first. To do this, you need to complete certain things in the game. Its a holdover from previous tomb raider titles that has survived many iterations. -Goaaaaaaaal! When you enter Peru for the first time, there is a soccer ball (football to some) on your right. Kick it past the dummy in front of you and between the two fences into the opening. You will hear an announcer say "Goaaaaaal!" and hear a crowd cheer. LOL. -Crystal dynamics rule! This little easter egg is a texture with the words C ystal Dynamics ule on it.
